We are seeking a dynamic, experienced,skilled, and dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to join the soon to be established multi-disciplinary Mersey Care Mood Clinic.
Innovative ways of treating Mood Disorders are a feature of theMental Health Research for Innovation Centrea ground-breaking research facility, delivered as a partnership between Mersey Care and University of Liverpool. Our aim is simple, to improve mental healthcare for all patients and service users, through new uses of existing drugs and researching digital therapies such as apps and artificial intelligence for delivering virtual talking therapies and new ways to support mental wellbeing.
As a core component of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team (MDT), you will be responsible for providing clinical pharmacy input to the MDT and clinical pharmacy expertise to clinical research studies and trials undertaken within the Mersey Care Mood Clinic (MCMC) at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.The post holder will be responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of pharmacy and associated clinical trials of investigational medicinal products, ensuring that they are conducted appropriately in line with legislation and trust policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include:
- Support the Psychiatry Lead for MCMC and Chief Pharmacist of the Trust in the provision of a high quality, cost effective and efficient patient centred pharmacy for MCMC, including clinical research studies and trials.
- Be a key member of the MCMC MDT and work closely with other senior staff in the Clinic to ensure the delivery of an integrated medicines management service for the Clinic.
- Responsible for the initiation, oversight, planning, organisation, and delivery of all pharmacy clinical research studies and trials for MCMC.
- Provide professional leadership, development, supervision and management of MCMC’s pharmacy service.
- Act as MCMC’s point of contact in relation to clinical research studies and trials involving medicines and ensure MCMC’s pharmacy clinical trials service is fully aligned to support the Trust’s research and innovation strategic intentions.
- Identify and review pharmaceutical risks associated with clinical research studies and trials undertaken at MCMC and ensure that these are managed in line with the Trust’s policies and procedures.
