About the Role:Hays Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a dedicated Primary SEN Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Salford. We are seeking a passionate and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join the dynamic team. This role is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support students in achieving their specific learning goals.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with SEND, preferably in a primary school setting.
- A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
