National Account Manager

Overview:

Califia Farms is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, National Account Manager to deliver revenue, trade spend and profit targets for a portfolio of assigned customers. You will be passionate about our brand, the dairy alternatives category, and the plant-based movement.

This role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, analytical mentality, and the ability to use data and insights to develop customer specific strategies to drive distribution and positive sales results. You will enjoy building long term partnerships that deliver for both our customers and Califia Farms.

This hybrid position works 2-3 days a week in the London office.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver revenue and profit targets for your customers
  • Manage trade spend appropriately in order to deliver our projected growth rates. Balance investment with growth opportunities.
  • Lead and develop our existing customer relationships moving from a distribution-based model to longer term strategic planning with joint growth plans objectives across the categories we operate in
  • Create a clear customer contact strategy and ensure we leverage this with our team in the US and UK to deliver outstanding results
  • Understand customer needs and category objectives to fully develop how Califia Farms can help them achieve their goals. Find the sweet spot to help us grow whilst meeting our customer needs in a commercially sustainable way.
  • Execute our shopper plans to engage shoppers at a range of touchpoints across the shopper journey. Work closely with the marketing team to build on these as appropriate.
  • Responsible for negotiating our commercial terms and business plans to ensure we are investing wisely across the trade throughout our JBP cycle.
  • Launch our NPD exceptionally and be seen as best in class by our customers

Qualifications:

Competencies & Experience
  • Solid experience working across a range of customers in the UK with a proven track record of delivering success with your customers
  • Clear communication style that lends itself to developing relationships with our customers whilst ensuring we are working closely with our colleagues in the US
  • Experience working collaboratively across functional departments such as finance, supply chain, marketing to ensure we achieve the right results for the business
  • Be a good influencer both internally and externally to help deliver against your objectives
  • Experience negotiating terms with customers that demonstrates a strong commercial platform and understanding
  • Embrace Califia’s core values and demonstrate these on a day-to-day basis
  • Passion for launching new products and executing them to the highest standard
  • A creative and positive mindset to overcome challenges and objections both internally and externally to ensure we deliver for the business and exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial mindset and not be afraid of getting involved in different aspects that require our attention
  • Ability to demonstrate your commercial math and analytical thinking to prioritise opportunities and investment
  • Enjoy strategic thinking and demonstrate the ability to lead teams whilst having the capacity to take on broader roles as we scale the business
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in a comparable position
  • Further education via University or equivalent
  • Negotiation and sales training
  • High proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
