Clinical Support Workers play a vital role in line with nurses to deliver excellent care to our patients with broad and varied health conditions the job is both exciting and challenging where team working is essential and initiative is paramount.Excellent communication, confidence and compassion are essential.
Experience in healthcare is an advantage but not essential as successful candidates will take part in the care certificate course – developing basic nursing skills before some extended competencies such as obtaining and accurate recording of blood pressure, venepuncture, and ECGs.

Person specification
Knowledge, Training & Experience
Essential criteria- Experience of working with members of the public or a desire to work in the Health Service
- Understanding of routine work procedures gained through a short induction period and on the job training
- Experience of working within a health or social care environment
- Experience of working within a team
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Care Certificate either upon appointment or within 12 weeks of commencement
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
- NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship
Skills & Abilities
Essential criteria- Good communication skills
- Basic IT skills
- Good organisational skills
- Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)
