SEN Support Assistant

We are seeking dedicated SEN Support Staff to join our team and provide essential support to SEN children in schools across the Weoley Castle area, Birmingham.

• Personal care
• PECs (Picture Exchange Communication System)
• Phonics interventions
• Patience and compassion
• Confidence in supporting SEN children
• Familiarity with the primary school curriculum
• Flexibility across year groups or key stages

• Provide tailored support to SEN children within a school environment
• Assist with personal care tasks as required
• Implement PECs and phonics interventions to support learning
• Collaborate with teachers to enhance student learning and development
• Exhibit patience and compassion in all interactions with students

• Proven experience supporting SEN children
• Understanding of the primary school curriculum
• Knowledge of autism

• Additional training in Makaton

• Temporary position
• Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, during term time only

• All applicants must hold the relevant qualifications and training for this role.
• The salary includes 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
• This is a temporary role, with potential for a permanent position in the future.
