This is an opportunity to join the well-established, progressive department of ENT at HHFT. The successful applicant will join a highly motivated, dynamic team, responsible for the management and treatment of ENT patients with the emphasis on multidisciplinary care.
The appointee will form part of a long-standing team delivering a comprehensive Hospital ENT Service, working closely with a tier 2 ENT community service. There is the opportunity to engage in future service development, as well as active participation in the teaching and training of junior staff.Continuous involvement in research and audit is encouraged.
Main duties of the job- Develop and maintain good working practices within wards, outpatients and A&E
- Collaborate and promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services and primary care
- Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues and other members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Work with colleagues to provide a consultant-led service with the highest standard of care
- Work with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines
Working for our organisation
Our team of clinicians specialise in a wide spectrum of diseases and disorders that affect the ENT system including snoring and sleep disorders, skin surgery, Meniere's and tinnitus to glue ear, nasal polyps, laryngitis, grommets, thyroid conditions, complex rhinology, head and neck surgery for people with head and neck cancer and much more.The department works closely with audiology and speech and language therapy to provide professional and friendly health care to adults and children of all ages. Comprehensive audiology services are also provided with an Audiological Scientist.

Essential criteria- Full GMC registration with a licence to practice
- On Specialist Register for ENT if applying for Consultant post
Experience
Essential criteria- Experienced in elective ENT surgery
- Experienced in managing elective outpatient caseloads
- Experienced in supervising junior doctors
Skills
Essential criteria- Good written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and all levels of staff

- Competent decision maker
