The role will focus and lead on the provision of agile, patient-focused transactional HR services by providing innovative, dynamic HR guidance, strategies and solutions to the Trust on workforce and HR priorities and meeting key strategic and operational objectives.The successful candidate will provide strategic vision and leadership in the development and comprehensive delivery of HR Operations incorporating the following functions: People Services, HR Information Systems and Workforce Rostering. The role will also entail working closely with HR Business Partners to support the delivery of our objectives across the strategic workforce agenda.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for building the People Service team to ensure it consistently promotes efficiency, flexibility, innovation, expertise, quality and improved value generation, and for creating functions which are responsive and proactive in the delivery of a first-class customer service.As a corporate Associate Director and senior manager, you will support the delivery of the People strategy and agenda, enabling the delivery of high quality and compassionate healthcare services. There really isn’t a more exciting time to join team UHBW, as the NBT and UHBW Trust Boards have agreed to transition to a Group model structure for the provision of the Joint Clinical Strategy developed in partnership by the two Trusts.
As part of this work the People Teams are involved in several enabling workstreams across the people teams and this post will lead and support delivery of these.

Essential criteria- FCIPD
- Educated to master's degree level or equivalent level of skills and knowledge
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria- Substantial and demonstrable experience of successfully managing transactional HR services
- Current knowledge of the NHS and political operating environment
- Significant experience in leading HR services through a rigorous transformational change management programme with demonstrable benefit realisation in cost, time and quality
- Experience delivering technological solutions such as e rostering, e job planning
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria- Effective leadership skills; the ability to set out a clear direction, inspire others and take control of challenging situations
- Political astuteness; the ability to read situations and read where power and influence lie and manage positions effectively
- The ability to effectively work in partnership with internal and external local, regional and national stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes
- To be able to work under pressure, with clear and decisive judgement capabilities
