What we’re looking for…

The Group Financial Reporting Accountant will play a key role in the production of the financial statements for the Annual report and accounts (ARA) and half year results, together with the financial statement for subsidiaries. The role will also support a range of additional technical accounting related tasks and month end activities as required.

This role is an ideal first step for a newly qualified accountant to move from practice into industry. It will give the role holder broad but deep experience across all areas of financial reporting relevant to AG Barr. It will be a challenging and rewarding role with lots of headroom for growth and further development.

Your responsibilities will include...

As a Group Financial Reporting Accountant your responsibilities will include;
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and the ability to prepare and present financial statements and reporting in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Prepare subsidiary company accounts in accordance with FRS 101
  • Develop strong pro-active working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Co-ordinate audit and group reporting requirements
  • Support technical accounting work
  • Continuously improve processes through both great insight and improved efficiency
  • Accounting for various employee share option schemes
  • Assist in reporting and governance of capital spend
  • Preparation of month end balance sheet reconciliations

What you’ll bring...

The successful candidate will have;
  • Newly qualified accountant (ICAS/ACA/ACCA)
  • FMCG knowledge/experience preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, practices and processes
  • Strong PC skills, particularly Google
  • Self-starter with a proven track record of multi-tasking abilities and meeting deadlines
