Teaching Personnel are working with a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school that focuses on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with a range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech, language, and communication difficulties.

Our team works collaboratively to support pupils' emotional, social, and academic development, enabling them to reach their full potential.

The Role:

We are looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team, working with pupils in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). This role offers an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to succeed both academically and personally.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with varying needs.
  • Assist with classroom management and the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to adapt lessons and provide differentiated support.
  • Support pupils in developing key life skills, including social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Supervise pupils during break times and on educational outings.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs.
  • Patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
  • Adaptable and able to work well in a dynamic school environment.
  • Able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of teachers, specialists, and parents.
Essential:
  • Safeguarding Level 2 (Teaching Personnel will help you attain this)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • DBS certificate on the update service (Teaching Personnel will help you attain this)
Desirable:
  • Relevant qualifications in special education or teaching assistance.
  • Knowledge of working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other learning difficulties.
  • Experience in de-escalation strategies and behaviour management.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
