Worksop, S80 - £30,200 – 39 hr week – days only
Our Worksop based client is looking to expand their Engineering team with a Mechanical Fitter / Skilled Operative. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a time served apprentice or an experienced quality orientated operative with strong industrial / mechanical engineering background
Mechanical Fitter / Skilled Operative duties and responsibilities
Reporting to the Manufacturing Team Leader, the Skilled Operative is responsible for all activities associated with final product assembly, testing and NDE (non-destructive evaluation).Ensuring all aspects of manufacturing are efficiently controlled, and successfully completed.
Operate all machinery when fully trained and assisting with factory maintenance programmes.
Assist in packing, stores and paint areas when necessary to meet business requirements.
Identify and record any nonconformity, and through designed channels, initiate and recommend solutions.
This role does require some travel to UK, overseas and offshore installations to perform service/maintenance contracts. Expenses paid and offshore survival training and medicals provided.
To apply for the Mechanical Fitter / Skilled Operative you must have: Strong industrial experience within a similar role and/or Time served apprentice
A sound mechanical engineering background - HNC or Higher preferred (but not essential)Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role
Similar industry working environment is highly desirable

Benefits of the Mechanical Fitter / Skilled Operative include:Salary: £30,200 – 39 hr week
Hours: Initially, 8am to 4.30pm Mon-Thurs finishing at 3.30pm on Fridays
Once trained, hours can be changed to 6am to 2.30pm Mon-Thurs finishing at 1.30pm Fridays
Bonus: (3% of salary if site manufacturing targets hit, paid quarterly)
Holidays: 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)
Extra holidays: Buy and sell (3 days max)
