We are looking for a Lead Front End Theme Developer to join our central Bristol office, on a full-time, permanent basis, who shares our passion for our business, eCommerce and the brands that we work with.

About the role- Lead Theme Developer

The Lead Theme Developer is responsible for owning vvast’s bespoke Shopify theme development, “vvastify” across multiple brands, whilst managing development of version control and deployment, reporting into the Managing Director. This role offers an opportunity for you to develop and progress further within the business as we grow, if you would like to.

The main responsibilities for our Lead Theme Developer role include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and quality assure “vvastify” Shopify theme development (particularly with regards to ds-section and style work)
  • Identifying key areas for maintenance and updates within vvastify and brand repos
  • Development of front end CAPEX projects, such as developing new front end features for brands or supporting 3rd party integrations.
  • Lead and contribute on new brand onboarding projects
  • Work with Managing Director to manage a vvastify maintenance board
  • Managing some merge requests
  • Site speed tracking and reporting
  • Management of uptime monitoring
  • Contributing to theme development projects
  • Staying up to date with trends in Shopify theme development
  • Monitoring Dawn updates
  • Providing training and support to team members on handling of escalated or complex queries / tasks and mentoring where needed
  • Supporting the team with their duties during peak periods
  • Making regular reports to upper management about team milestones and progress

What we offer:

  • A starting salary of £40,000-£49,999, depending on your experience. If this salary is not in line with your expectations and you are interested in working for us, please still get in touch
  • 37.5 hour working week, Monday-Friday

The ideal Lead Theme Developer will have experience working as a Front End Developer using Shopify Liquid, CSS3, HTML5 and Javascript, with a good understanding of Shopify theme structure. Previous experience of project deployment would be a bonus.

You will be proactive in your approach to work, able to research and implement new ideas and solutions, and enjoy collaborating and sharing ideas with the team. Perhaps you might have experience as a Front-End Developer, Frontend Developer, Web Developer, Frontend developer, Mid weight developer, Senior Developer, Shopify Developer or Front End Theme Developer.
