Michael Page are recruiting for a dynamic and fast-growing Broker, based in the City of London who are seeking a Qualified Product Controller to join their London-based team due to continued expansion. The role sits at the heart of the business bridging traders and finance focusing on daily P&L analysis across a variety of trading desks.
Our client is a global Financial Services firm operating as both a Broker and Investor, with a strong international presence. Following significant growth and a recent IPO, they are expanding their team and hiring a Product Controller to sit between Finance and Trading, focusing on daily P&L.This is a great opportunity for a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA candidate with experience in banking or brokerage to join a fast-paced, respected firm with exposure to a broad range of asset classes.
Job Description
As Product Controller, your key duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Carry out daily P&L analysis and ensure accurate financial reporting to front office and management.
- Partner with Risk and Valuations to validate and apply financial adjustments (e.g., credit, funding, bid/offer).
- Deliver monthly analysis of profitability, including cost tracking and commentary on trading desk performance.
- Collaborate with legal entity controllers to provide monthly insight into the impact of structured products across relevant entities.
- Ensure all manual accounting entries for complex products are processed accurately at month-end.
- Reconcile and substantiate the business unit's balance sheet on a monthly basis.
- Resolve trade and position discrepancies in coordination with control and support teams, and identify ways to enhance existing processes.
- Contribute to wider finance projects, especially around process improvements and system integration.
- Support development of trade flow connectivity between front office systems and core finance systems.
- Uphold adherence to all regulatory frameworks and internal control policies.
- Act as a champion of integrity, professionalism, and the firm's core values.
- Promptly report policy breaches or operational risks, and play an active role in ongoing risk management efforts.
- Professional qualification of one of the following (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal, confident when engaging with stakeholders across multiple departments including front office, risk, operations, legal, and finance
- Familiarity with programming tools such as Python, SQL, or Alteryx is desirable but not required
- Adaptable and composed in fast-moving, demanding settings
- Strategic and forward-thinking collaborator who anticipates issues and supports seamless operations
