Technical Coordinator (pumping/electrical)
We have a great opportunity for a career-minded individual to join us as the technical coordinator within the Small Sewage Pumping team at Maple Lodge, this will be a mix of being in the field as well as office-based covering the home counties and Thames Valley Area.
As the Successful candidate, you will be accountable for the management of our Pumping stations overseeing the materials, permits, resources and services for all complex jobs for planned and reactive work across maintenance and operations structure.
This role will involve day-to-day contractor liaison and management, input into future planning and solutions, and providing technical support to the wider team.This role also comes with a car allowance.
What you’ll be doing as the Technical Coordinator- Immersing yourself in often unseen and unique infrastructure that serves millions of people.
- Investigating and reviewing the performance of our Sewage Pumping Stations.
- Replying to asset failures and coordinating resources to return them to service.
- Liaising with our contractors and suppliers to deliver solutions to problems on our sites.
- Managing complex work and investigations.
- Using your experience and technical expertise to directly improve the lives of our customers.
- Comprehension and engagement with a variety of equipment including but not limited to pumps, valves, pipework, lifting equipment, ultrasonic level sensors, flowmeters, control panels and LV electrical equipment.
- Providing technical advice and expertise to field staff and 3rd parties. This will include providing detailed instruction and monitoring progress.
Working Pattern or hours: 36 hours, from Monday to Friday, plus the inclusion onto a standby rota for which you will receive additional Payment.
What you should bring to the role- Ideally qualified to at least NVQ level, specialised in the area of mechanical or electrical engineering. Ideally, you will have experience in technical job design and/or prerequisite management within an infrastructure-related environment.
- You will have extensive experience in a process-related or utility industry together with a sound working knowledge of the safe systems of work required under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- IT literacy is essential as all work is managed through the SAP system (user training for this and other standard software systems will be provided).
- You will also demonstrate a good business/ stakeholder awareness, mutually with an innovative and creative approach to problem-solving and strong teamwork and influencing skills.
- A full current driving license is essential for this position.
- Competitive salary between £36,000 -£45,000 per annum depending on your experience level.
