They are a leading, independent consultancy and work with owners, occupiers, developers, and funders, across both private and public sectors.

Due to continuous growth, they now seek a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join the growing team in our Belfast office.

Your new role

In this role you will be involved at all stages of projects, from initial estimates and budgets, through to delivering pre- and post-contract work. You will support senior Quantity Surveyors and further team growth. Through working with experienced individuals, you will gain valuable insight into

  • Quantification of construction works and activities
  • Cost estimating
  • Cost planning
  • Value engineering
  • Procurement
  • Tendering
  • Post-contract cost control
  • Administration of different forms of construction contract

What you'll need to succeed

The consultancy are looking for a hard-working and ambitious graduate who should blend seamlessly into the team. A degree in Quantity Surveying plus 2 years experience in a similar role is essential.

Other key-skills needed for this role are:

  • Clear and effective communication skills – both oral and written
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work
  • Good organisation, problem-solving and negotiating skills
  • Financial and numeracy management skills
  • Sound ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
