We have several vacancies for HCSW Apprenticeships. Don’t worry if you haven’t worked in a hospital before; we offer comprehensive training through our apprenticeship programme.

Main duties of the job
Please note, under current apprenticeship rules, we cannot accept applicants requiring sponsorship.
As an apprentice, you will attend classes and work alongside dedicated colleagues, caring for our patients. Your role will involve assisting patients with personal care such as washing, dressing, feeding, and supporting registered nurses in patient care.

As patient care is required 24 hours a day, you will be expected to work a combination of long days, weekends, and 12-hour night shifts. This is a full-time position with a contracted workweek of 37.5 hours or 150 hours over a 4-week rota.

Please take your travel arrangements into account when indicating your preference for one of our three locations: Ealing Hospital, Central Middlesex Hospital, or Northwick Park Hospital. We will endeavour to accommodate your request.
The duration of the apprenticeship is a minimum of 12 months.
This developmental post begins at Band 2 HCSW upon appointment, with progression to the bottom of Band 3 under Agenda for Change upon completion of the apprenticeship.
Interviews and assessments are scheduled to occur during the week commencing 12th May, with the course anticipated to commence on 1st July 2025.

Person specification
Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria- Level 2 Health Care qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Willingness of commitment to enhancing their functional skills as part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Willingness to undertake the Mandatory Care Certificate and complete within 3-6 months approximately
- Right to live and work in the UK without sponsorship
- A Grade 3/4 in GCSE Maths and English or hold a Level 1 or Level 2 qualification in Functional Skills Maths and English or equivalent experience
