Sellick Partnership are delighted to be working with a well-established local authority in London in their search for Chief Legal Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis. This role requires someone who can work full-time and attend the office as much as possible (at least 2-3 days per week).
The responsibilities of the successful Chief Legal Advisor will be to:
- Manage a busy team with diverse legal specialisms
- Advise senior client officers and elected members
- Discharging Monitoring Officer responsibilities
- Directly reporting into the Assistant Director of Legal and Governance and Director of Legal and Governance
- Motivate and help develop the team
Our client is seeking a Chief Legal Advisor who:
- Holds a current practicing certificate (Barrister, Solicitor or CILEx)
- Experience from a local authority background
- The ability to work at pace and juggle competing priorities
- Has legal practice management experience
- Dealt with governance matters previously
- Can attend the offices as and when necessary (usually around 2 - 3 days per week)
