Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Building Control Surveyor to join our dynamic team. In this key role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building regulations and legislation, and for promoting safe and sustainable construction practices within your designated area.
You will work closely with architects, contractors, and the public to provide guidance on building control matters, assessing plans and inspecting building works to ensure they meet the required standards. Your expertise will play a vital role in improving the quality of construction and enhancing public safety.
As an Area Building Control Surveyor, you will also be involved in the process of educating stakeholders about the importance of adhering to building codes and regulations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage with local authorities and community groups to address building safety concerns and champion best practices in building control.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of buildings and construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
Review and assess building plans and applications for adherence to safety and environmental standards.
Provide expert advice and guidance to builders, developers, and the public regarding building regulations.
Collaborate with local authorities and stakeholders to address building safety issues and community concerns.
Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to inspections and compliance.
Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in construction practices and recommend improvements.

Participate in training and educational programs to promote best practices in building control and safety.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Professional qualification such as Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
Proven experience in building control, surveying, or a similar role within the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards related to construction.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance and safety issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Hours Per Week: 36.00

Start Time: 08:30
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Day: £280.00

Location: Bromley, South East London
