SEND Teaching Assistant

Step Teachers are working with a school in St Albans to recruit an SEND Teaching Assistant for a full time supply role supporting individuals with SEND in a mainstream class, initially until the end of term with the potential to be extended beyond.

SEND Teaching Assistant Role:
- Able to provide support on a 1-2-1, small group and whole class basis
- Work effectively with other members of staff in the classroom and throughout the school
- Ability to support student and encourage their progression
- Willingness to comply with the schools’ policies and implement effectively
SEND Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Recent experience working in a primary school or with school aged children
- A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable
- Previous SEND experience is essential
