Teacher of Prep Music (maternity cover)

Part-time (0.5FTE)

To commence September 2025

Loughborough Schools Music are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Prep Music, who must be an inspiring and ambitious classroom music specialist, to teach EYFS, KS1 and KS2 music at The Nursery and Fairfield Prep School. At Fairfield Prep School the main curriculum is currently taught via the Kodály Method, with all Year 2 taking part in our Colourstrings scheme which is taught by string specialists in class groups.
Over recent years this has proved enormously beneficial for the musical development of our pupils, and we will be keen that these principals will be upheld. We would like the new Teacher of Prep Music to have an awareness of the Kodály method, and ideally some training, but there will be no requirement for the new member of staff to be a Kodály expert.

The successful applicant will be able to inspire pupils to participate in a range of musical activities and be the best they can be. Strong keyboard skills may be beneficial, though they are not essential.

We are a vibrant, diverse community and welcome applications from all backgrounds. This post would be well supported by the Head of Prep Music and the wider music team.
