Job purpose
To support a young man who has Dyspraxia, learning difficulties and Aspergers with mainly sports based activities and accompanying him with his hobbies such as attending local football matches and the gym.
About me
I am a young man who loves sport, and I am looking for someone who has similar interests to support me. I am looking for someone who has interests in football, golf, darts, pool, rugby, swimming and keeping fit.I have Dyspraxia, learning difficulties and Aspergers. I have a quiet and friendly personality, and I usually make all of my connections through sport.
I attend the gym, and I have a Personal Trainer, but I would like to use the gym at other times. I would like someone to support me in the changing rooms as I feel vulnerable/unsure and I’m not able to open the locker doors. My Personal Trainer is happy to provide any training plans to assist in the gym.
I would like to explore other sports, mainly golf and fishing. I am hoping to get started with lessons for these activities soon and I would like support to continue with this. Someone with a basic understanding of or a willingness to learn these activities will be preferable.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Attending the gym with me.
Supporting me to continue with golf and fishing following lessons.Supporting me with attending local football matches.

Summary terms and conditionsHours, days and times of work: Around 5 hours per week term time and 10 hours per week outside of term.
Pay rate: £14.50 per hour
Male Support Worker/Companion required (*Schedule 9, P1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies)
Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
