Job Title: Assistant Principal (SEN)
Location: Bristol (BS13 8RA)
Salary: Up to £43,000 (negotiable)

Start Date: February half-term (earlier start in January possible for transition)

An outstanding SEN independent primary school located in Bristol is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal to join their permanent staff. The school, well-regarded for its nurturing environment and commitment to individualised learning, caters to children with a range of special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Principal in the strategic leadership and management of the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and well-being for all students.
  • Lead on SEN provision, including overseeing the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensuring effective support is in place for each pupil.
  • Support and develop staff, leading training and contributing to performance management.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and external professionals to maintain positive relationships and ensure clear communication.
  • Help drive the continuous improvement of the school, ensuring policies and procedures align with best practices in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a strong track record in SEN education.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting, ideally within an SEN environment.
  • Deep knowledge of SEN codes of practice, as well as child protection and safeguarding regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
  • A clear vision for delivering inclusive education and fostering the holistic development of each child.
  • Passionate about supporting children with diverse needs and making a meaningful impact in their education journey.
