An outstanding SEN independent primary school located in Bristol is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal to join their permanent staff. The school, well-regarded for its nurturing environment and commitment to individualised learning, caters to children with a range of special educational needs.This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader to help shape the future of a small, close-knit school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Principal in the strategic leadership and management of the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and well-being for all students.
- Lead on SEN provision, including overseeing the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensuring effective support is in place for each pupil.
- Support and develop staff, leading training and contributing to performance management.
- Engage with parents, carers, and external professionals to maintain positive relationships and ensure clear communication.
- Help drive the continuous improvement of the school, ensuring policies and procedures align with best practices in SEN education.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a strong track record in SEN education.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting, ideally within an SEN environment.
- Deep knowledge of SEN codes of practice, as well as child protection and safeguarding regulations.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
- A clear vision for delivering inclusive education and fostering the holistic development of each child.
- Passionate about supporting children with diverse needs and making a meaningful impact in their education journey.
