Have you ever wanted to work in Cyber? This is a great opportunity for an entry-level Cyber Security Analyst with a keen interest in Information Security and an ICT support background.
This role is based at either of our Ipswich Hospital or Colchester Hospital sites, but we have a flexible approach to home working.

Main duties of the job
Development and on-going maintenance of the Trust’s cyber security posture of both bespoke applications and 3rd party off the shelf software solutions.
Primarily using tools and software, assist the Trust in the provision of cost-effective, risk-controlled, robust, reliable, responsive, and secure security solutions to protect the Trust from external attacks.
Participate in all areas of the security including analysis and threat hunting, design, patching, virus protection, security education, versioning control, testing, documentation, technical implementation, and deployment.
Develop and maintain excellent technical knowledge regarding IT security issues.
Work as part of a dynamic team delivering an effective service, ensuring operational needs are met to an approved standard and defined performance criteria within Service Level Agreements, delivering a customer focussed and professional support service.
Lead the ongoing development of the IT environment keeping abreast of new technologies and help implement those that will benefit the Trust.
Develop an understanding of the Trust’s and NHS IT systems sufficiently well to be able to advise users on any problems encountered.
Resolve incidents via cooperation with other team members, Trust staff, and suppliers where required to rectify system problems and implement preventative measures.

Person specification
Experience
Essential criteria- Proven recent experience in an IT support role
- Experience of supporting a complex multi-vendor environment
- Problem solving / troubleshooting complex technical issues
- NHS IT experience
- A good working knowledge of Information Security (e.g. ISO27002 principles and practices)
- Proven experience in an IT Security Role
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Degree level education or equivalent in experience
- ITIL foundation qualification
- Recognised ICT qualification
- Security+, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
- Application vendor qualifications
- MCSE, CCNA or similar
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Security applications and Antimalware solutions
- Systems and networking security
- General knowledge of processes and tasks to support experience of working as an analyst in either Problem, Change, Configuration or Release Management
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and MS server products
- Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
- Good knowledge of networking principles to include strong understanding of TCP/IP, IP subnetting, VLANs DNS, DHCP, SSL, routing and switching.
