The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) teamat Amazon is fundamental to our operations - they're the oneskeeping vital machinery running at all times. As an RME Technician,you'll maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces whileupholding Health and Safety best practices.

You'll help to keepyour colleagues safe and prevent machine downtime. Our RMETechnicians boost the availability and quality of our equipment andwork to enhance the operational environmenttoo.

Key jobresponsibilities
  • Proactive and preventativemaintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a livedistribution warehouse
  • Use the latest tools to maximizeequipment effectiveness
  • Uphold all health and safetypolicies and practices
  • Support the development andprogression of on-site apprentices
  • Work on continuousimprovement projects and roll out best practices across a range ofEU sites

A day in thelife

Our RME Technicians are based on-site, sothey can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry outa range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipmentto make sure it's working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll alsorespond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, andimplementing solutions as quickly as possible.

You'll also makesuggestions for long-termimprovements.

Working alongside seniorcolleagues, you'll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks likepainting and plumbing and will liaise with contractors if you needexternal expertise. You'll work on a range of shifts to make sureour sites are supported around the clock - allowing Amazon todeliver at the speed we're known for.

Our Reliability MaintenanceEngineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best.We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team playersand guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain,troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network offulfilment centers.

Some of our people are leaders, who oversee theteam as they work on exciting technology - some of which onlyexists at Amazon.

From installing automatedpackaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a siteto repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles mostaspects of Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildingslegally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operatingat maximum efficiency.

There are lots of opportunities forprogression, both within the RME team and more widely acrossAmazon.

Everything we do focuses on reducingdowntime in Amazon's crucial operations sites, so customers gettheir orders on time. We often work during early or late hours tocarry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including nightshifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skillsand the opportunity to develop and introduce completely newprocesses or cutting-edge tech like Amazon Robotics and our ComplexItem Sorter.

BASICQUALIFICATIONS
  • Served a full Engineeringindentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQlevel 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject (City &Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ)
  • Relevant experience as aqualified engineer
  • Relevant experience working inmechanical and/or electrical maintenance
  • Advancedproficiency in the local language verbally and inwriting
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

  • Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc,BEng
  • Experience in condition-basedmonitoring
  • Experience working with print and applymachines
  • Experience in fault-finding and maintainingconveyor or automation systems
