Group Financial Accountant
Salary from £61,870 to £71,292 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £78,762 pa inclusive of London allowance.
A market supplement of £8,000 pa will also be applied.
The Group Financial Accountant is part of the Financial Reporting and Compliance (FRC) team within the wider Finance Division. The FRC team are responsible for the financial statement preparation, management of the year-end audit process and preparation & reconciliation of the monthly balance sheet & cashflow reports for LSE, its subsidiaries & other related entities.
You would report to the Head of Financial Reporting and Compliance and would be responsible for managing an effective and efficient financial accounting function made up of 6 staff, producing and reviewing monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, managing the School’s balance sheet items and reporting on the School’s subsidiaries and related entities’ financial performance.
Candidates should have:
- Recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/ACCA).
- Substantial financial accounting experience & skills in a large and complex commercial organization.
- Experience in managing staff including qualified accountants.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (look-up functions, if/sum-if, pivot tables).
- Evidence of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills, and experience in communicating financial issues in a straightforward and succinct way to non-financially trained staff.
