An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Disrepair Litigation team for three dedicated, enthusiastic and able lawyers to join our dynamic disrepair legal team.Islington is a borough of great strengths: thriving businesses,excellent transport links and outstanding services with a rich and wonderful diversity of people, cultures and communities residing within.
These roles form part of a taskforce ensuring the standard of housing conditions are upheld and maintained throughout the borough and working within an area of law that is rapidly changing.
Main duties of the job
The primary function of the post will be to work collaboratively with colleagues across services dealing with housing condition claims involving the Council.We are looking for a lawyer (solicitors, barristers or FILEX) with a minimum of two years post qualification experience in the legal profession or exceptional experience of shorter duration.
You will have knowledge of housing and disrepair law and related legislation and experience of conducting housing disrepair litigation.You will have to be highly motivated and a team player.
Working for our organisation
You will be working within the housing litigation disrepair team within the legal services department responsible for dealing with disrepair claims, including EPAs and counter-claims.The post has a number of basic, key duties but also involves responding to a rapidly changing environment. You must be adaptable, flexible and able to prioritise tasks on a daily basis.
