Position: EYFS Coordinator and Reception Teacher
Location: On site, Westbury-on-Trym BS9 3BA

Hours: This position is a full-time position

We are currently looking for a dynamic and inspiring EYFS Coordinator and Reception Teacher to support our Prep school.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess and report on pupil progress with regards to Development Matters and the Early Learning goals;
  • Keep up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice in Early Years education;
  • Keep Early Years inspection paperwork up to date and in line with ISI requirements;
  • Visit nurseries to assess a pupil’s suitability for the Badminton setting;
  • Set up links with external Early Years providers and promote the school’s visions and values;
  • Observe, assess and record each child’s progress using the Interactive Learning Diary software;
  • Work with others, including teaching assistants as well as volunteer helpers, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to children within a secure learning environment.
  • Aid the development of a child's personal, social, language and physical coordination abilities.
  • Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources.
  • Encourage mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play.
  • Help children develop and foster curiosity and knowledge.
  • Build and maintain positive, open relationships with parents.
  • Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the setting

To be considered for this position, we are looking for the following:

  • Applicants must have Qualified Teacher Status as well as EYFS qualification or specialism
  • Minimum of two years’ experience of teaching Early Years (3 to 6 year olds)
  • Proven track record of supporting EAL and SEND pupils
  • Ability to lead the teaching of Reception aged pupils
  • Experience of preparing for Ofsted and/ or ISI inspections
  • Up to date knowledge of current best practice and curriculum developments in the Early Years
  • Able to demonstrate excellent classroom management
