Business Analyst - (Two-Year fixed term contract)

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the implementation of a new database and reporting system for our Diocese which will encourage good practice and improve data management throughout the organisation as we work to support mission and ministry in local church communities.

Working hours: Full time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Benefits: We offer a range of benefits including hybrid and flexible working, 11% non-contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday, rising to 29 after five years’ service.

Responding to the opportunity of national funding from the Church of England, the Business Analyst will implement and improve the database and reporting system to encourage good practise in data management throughout the organisation and increase our capability to record and process more accurate and valuable data.

We are seeking an individual who will engage directly with senior managers and stakeholders to deliver on agreed plans, as well as coordinate the workstack of the third-party software developers.

Substantial experience working in the capacity of a Business Analyst is required for this role.

ROLE DUTIES
  • Working within the Data Team and across all Diocesan departments to map current procedures, suggest improvements, develop functionality, test new systems and measure the success of the new processes.
  • Analyse the business processes in each department/team of the organisation to determine the current business processes and the process interactions that take place in achieving their objectives.
  • Create and maintain a Data Map of all fields of data held and processed in the Diocesan Office and Area Offices with corresponding responsibilities and dependencies.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and accuracy improvements with the current business processes by integrating the data and stakeholders’ requirements into the database and reporting system and develop proposals for the development of system functionality.
CRITERIA
  • Educated to degree level in a related subject or equivalent level of qualification or substantial relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate significant Business Analyst experience
  • Experience of transforming or digitalising processes in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with a variety of ways of presenting complex data with clarity.
  • Background of delivering insights in support organisational transformation
The Diocese of Chelmsford is the Church of England in East London and Essex. The Diocese is vibrant and growing with our 463 parishes and 139 schools across Essex, the unitary authorities of Southend and Thurrock, and five East London Boroughs serving a population of around 3 million and rising.

We have nearly 600 churches, which are served by around 500 clergy.

The Chelmsford Diocesan Board of Finance (CDBF) is a company, and registered charity, that manages the business and operational affairs of the diocese, including matters relating to Finance, Property, Communications and Media, Safeguarding, Governance, Human Resources, Information Technology and Data Management, as well as Mission and Ministry which deals with training and supporting our clergy.
