We are looking for a well-motivated nurse to be an integral part of the Upper GI Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse who will work within the Upper GI service across Nottingham University Hospitals.
We are committed to the development of all our team members both educationally and clinically, however relevant specialist knowledge and skills is essential.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Upper GI Team is to work alongside the Band 7 team members in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of patient care for those who present with UGI cancer investigation and diagnosis and related conditions.
The successful applicant must be willing to be flexible to meet the needs of this team and must demonstrate knowledge, expertise and passion in working within the speciality of Upper GI surgery and or Oncology
The nurse specialist will work in collaboration with specialist and other professional teams.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- RMN or RN with a current Level One NMC registration.
- Educated to degree level in Nursing or Healthcare or working/committed to completing degree.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- MSC in Nursing or similar health specialism or working/committed to completing.
- Non-Medical Prescriber
- Teaching/Assessing Qualification
Experience
Essential criteria- UGI Surgical experience or cancer nurse experience within the last 3 years.
- Significant or relevant post registration experience
- Evidence of teaching experience both in the clinical setting and in the classroom.
- Experience in delivering brief interventions

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.Disability Confidence: All applicants who have declared a disability and who meet the essential criteria for the post will be shortlisted.

- Disclosure and Barring Service: Your post maybe subject to a DBS check which incur a cost dependent on the level of check required (£42.90 for enhanced and £22.90 for standard). I agree to reimburse Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust the cost of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check if it is required (by deduction from first month’s pay).
