Description

The Personal Advisor for Looked After Children & Leaving Care Service WCR 2 Base plays a crucial role in supporting vulnerable young individuals as they navigate the transition from care to independence. This position requires a compassionate and dedicated professional who is passionate about improving the lives of looked after children and those making the transition from care.
You will work collaboratively with young people, empowering them to develop the skills and confidence necessary for successful independent living. Your goal will be to provide tailored advice, guidance, and support, ensuring that each young person achieves their personal and educational outcomes.
You will also engage with various professionals, including social workers, educators, and healthcare providers, to create a comprehensive support network around each young person. Through advocacy and mentorship, you will help foster resilience and self-sufficiency in young individuals, guiding them in areas such as housing, employment, education, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one support and guidance to looked after children and young adults leaving care.
Assist young people in setting and achieving personal, educational, and vocational goals.
Collaborate with local authorities and other agencies to develop individual support plans.
Conduct assessments of young people's needs and aspirations to tailor services effectively.
Facilitate access to housing, education, training, and employment opportunities.
Act as an advocate for young people, representing their interests in various settings.

Monitor and evaluate the progress of young people, adjusting support as necessary.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
Experience working with children and young people, particularly those in care.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by looked after children and care leavers.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.

Hours Per Week: 37.00

Start Time: 08:30
End Time: 17:00
Pay Per hour: £21.24
