Accounts Assistant - Exciting Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive, hands-on and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join a fast-paced, multi-site business. This role will play a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of day-to-day financial operations, supporting a busy finance function with reconciliations, reporting and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily and weekly bank reconciliations, including cash and card transactions
- Post and reconcile revenue from POS systems, investigating and resolving variances
- Manage employee expenses, including processing, approvals and analysis
- Oversee petty cash, ensuring accurate recording and correct VAT treatment
- Take ownership of the sales ledger, including invoicing, credit control and balance management
- Administer company prepaid cards, including setup, monitoring and controls
- Provide support to operational teams with banking and system-related queries
- Assist with year-end audit processes, including reconciliations and supporting documentation
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Confident communicator, able to build relationships across the business
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proactive team player with a flexible, hands-on approach
- Professional and discreet when handling confidential information
- Good understanding of financial controls, accuracy and compliance
- Experience with accounting systems such as Business Central (or similar)
- Background in a multi-site or high-volume environment (e.g. hospitality/retail)
- Experience in transactional finance (purchase ledger / sales ledger)
- AAT qualified or studying towards a qualification
