Senior Network Design Engineer

UBDS is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer Design with customer facing skills and hands on experience to join our Secure Connectivity team, playing a pivotal role in client facing projects and engagements.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deploy network solutions and enhancements to existing network deployments, software, and operating systems
  • You will diagnose problems and troubleshoot issues across a number of technologies such as Cisco ASA/Firepower, Palo Alto, HPE Aruba EdgeConnect, SD-WAN, Wired and Wireless LAN, along with some more traditional/legacy network solutions.
  • You will be a problem-solver, passionate about networking,.
  • Our customer-facing role will expose you to a diverse group of teams, providing endless opportunities for career growth in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • You will be a SME for more junior engineers within the team
  • Effectively communicate with customers regarding technical issues and customer service inquiries, both orally and in writing.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot wireless, security, switching, and other various network-related issues
  • Own each customer case from initial creation to resolution.
  • Collaborate with other support team members to fix network outages, misconfigurations, and complex networking issues on customers' devices.
  • Work with colleagues and our client's teams to diagnose and resolve critical, escalated issues.

Requirements

About You
  • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, implementation and troubleshooting of complex network solutions
  • Thorough comprehension of fundamental networking protocols including TCP, STP, Ethernet, OSPF, BGP etc.
  • Experience working on LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs, NAT devices, DHCP servers, DNS servers etc.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting WiFi networks
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent client / customer facing skills and an ability to communicate at all levels within an organisation
  • Experience in computer networking related problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent analytical skills and an ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads
  • Networking certifications: CCNA as a minimum
  • Hands on experience with some or al of the following: Cisco routing and switching, Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco Meraki, HPE Aruba wired and wireless LAN, HPE Aruba EdgeConnect (Silverpeak), VMWare SD-WAN, Palo Alto firewalls and cloud experience with Azure and AWS.
