Pharmacy services are provided in-house at both Blackpool Teaching Hospitals and Clifton Community Hospital under the direct management of the Director ofPharmacy. Outpatient dispensing is provided onsite by a third-party contractor.The pharmacy team consists of 179 WTE staff when at full establishment.
Pharmacy has a strong and visible presence on the wards with an average of almost 80% ofinpatient beds visited daily by a clinical pharmacist and 83% of pharmacist time spent on clinical activities. We have a bustling dispensary which in the last 12 months alone output 275,421 items and a new, state of the art dispensing robot.
