We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 2 Therapy Support Worker to join our Stroke, Rehabilitation and Early Supported Discharge Team at The Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust.
The post holder needs to be flexible, have good time management skills, confident IT skills, and work well in a team as well as independently.
The role is based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford. We are delighted to be able to offer patients who have had a stroke the opportunity of assessment and treatment over the weekend and Bank Holidays and this post holder would be expected to participate in the 7-day working rota for this.
Main duties of the job
The role form part of a team of generic Therapy Support Workers who currently work between the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy and the Speech and Language Therapy team. The role includes delivering therapy to patients, supporting the qualified therapists as well as administration and housekeeping tasks.

Person specification
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Interest in the delivery of healthcare
- Knowledge of the role of a therapy assistant in an acute healthcare setting and ability to work within the boundaries of the role
Education
Essential criteria- Maths and English GCSE Grade 9-4
- Evidence of knowledge and skills sufficient to demonstrate the ability and willingness to study at NVQ level 2
- NVQ 2/3 in a health related subject
