This is a great opportunity for a speciality doctor to join the Older Adult Psychiatry Team in Salford.
This is a full - time appointment for a Specialty Doctor in psychiatry to work with the community mental health team for older adults. They will cover the North Cluster within Salford. This covers predominantly Walkden, Little Hulton, and Worsley.
Main duties of the job- The post holder would join the clinical team that currently supports North of Salford. The base would be in Swinton, and they will be supervised by Dr M Javeed.
- The post holder will liaise with the other medical colleagues within the Salford area and support the community team with clinical activity that covers meetings, CPAs, professionals’ meetings, and other Mental Health Act related activity.
- The post holder will review patients presenting to MATs clinics and complete home visits for MATS and CMHT patients.
- The post holder will be expected to Diagnose and formulate management plans with supervision as required.
- The post holder will be expected to be a Section 12 Approved clinician. We will support the post holder to obtain S12 or AC approval if this is required.
- Work in partnership with local GP
- Work in a collaborative way with multidisciplinary teams including external partners.
- Assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others.
- The post holder will not be expected to participate in the Salford middle grade on-call rota.
- The post holder will be professionally accountable to his/her clinical supervisor and the Lead Consultant (Dr M Javeed) and operationally accountable to Mr James Logue who is the Head of Operations

- Standard offer of 2 SPAs: 8 DCCs (pro rata).

Essential criteria- Medical Degree
- Full GMC Registration
- 4 years full-time Postgraduate or equivalent experience.
Eligibility
Essential criteria- Registered or be eligible to register for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
