We are seeking a seasoned Project/Operations Cost Controller to provide services for HQ-based projects, ensuring diligent cost control and document management for Capex and Opex activities. In this capacity, you will partner with project managers to optimize cost tracking, reporting, and document control processes, supporting budget accuracy and efficiency.
Your main deliverables are as follows:
Scope 1: Project and Operations Cost Controller- Prepare monthly Project and Operations Cost/Schedule reports, clearly highlighting project performance against established deadlines and budgets for project managers.
- Assist project managers with cost estimations to support the AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) approval process, including establishing cost baselines for performance measurement and variance assessment.
- Develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to define task durations and allocate costs per WBS for each project, with continuous tracking for deviations.
- Proactively identify and report any potential overspend in both Capex and Opex budgets to the COO.
- Provide on-the-job training to subsidiaries to cascade corporate standards and ensure uniform quality control, achieving consistent accuracy across business units.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive list of major Opex contracts, including award/expiry dates, contract owners, and contract values.
- Provide monthly cost analysis reports to the Group Supply Chain Manager, detailing expenditures against budget and forecasting future expenditures based on activity variations.
- Track invoice statuses, identifying upcoming and overdue payments to ensure timely action and budgeting compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop and maintain a Master Document Register for each project, issuing appropriate document numbers.
- Ensure accurate storage, cataloging, and retrieval of project documents, maintaining the integrity of all working documents and implementing updates when necessary.
- Enforce document security by assigning access permissions and archiving obsolete documents.

This is a contract opportunity offered subject to IR35 compliance checks.
Requirements- 5-10 years of experience in cost control for Capex and Opex in the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in SAP data analysis and strong understanding of contract management and payment terms.
- Skilled in report writing and presenting cost analysis.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles, with an engineering diploma or relevant operational experience.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing large volumes of documentation.
