About Our Client

Our client is a well-established firm in the legal professional services industry who are proud to be part of the legal500 list. The role is hybrid 4 days in the office, 1 day at home. You will be joining a HR team that compromises of a Head of HR and a Senior HR Advisor.

Both individuals are experienced HR professionals who encourage development and exposure, this means over time your role will grow and will increase in responsibilities.

Job Description

As an HR & Recruitment Assistant you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Human Resources and Recruitment functions of the firm. Working closely with the HR Manager and Recruitment team, you will be responsible for attracting, screening, and selecting qualified candidates for various positions within the organisation. Additionally, you will assist in implementing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and providing administrative support to the HR department.Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job vacancies, screening CVs, and arranging interviews.
  • Assist with the design and delivery of the firm's talent attraction strategy
  • Lead on early careers recruitment which includes partnering with universities, hosting open days, career fairs and more..
  • Coordinate candidate interviews, including logistical arrangements and timely communication.
  • Conduct initial telephone screenings to evaluate candidate qualifications and suitability for open positions.
  • Market mapping and outreach to passive candidates within the South Wales legal sector using Linkedin recruiter
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records in the HR database.
  • Support the onboarding and orientation of new employees, including preparation of paperwork and delivery of orientation sessions.
  • Assist the HR Manager in implementing HR policies and procedures, including employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives, such as organising events and activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and maintaining files.
The Successful Applicant
  • Previous experience in HR and/or Recruitment / Talent Acquisition is highly advantageous
  • Confident communication skills and able to lead on projects
  • Ideally working towards CIPD qualification or CIPD qualified
