Salary: £58,000 to £75,000 DOE
The salary range for this role is broad as we are able to consider varying levels of experience. Any offer made will carefully take into account level of experience (including relevant industry experience), transferable relevant skills and previous relevant achievements.

About the role
Due to continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Product Manager to help us define the product vision and strategy for the software elements of our QEC stack (Deltaflow®). As Product Manager for our Deltaflow software tools, your goal is to help turn Deltaflow® into a unique and successful product in the fast-evolving QEC space, while aligning the software tools with our software strategy.
This role is critical in ensuring our software stack, in particular the fault tolerant compiler, successfully unlocks the full flexibility and performance of Deltaflow for our users.
What you will do
Collaborating closely with our software engineering teams, our wider product management team and with internal end-users, you will leverage your Product Management experience to:
Vision & Strategy- Distill Riverlane’s go-to-market and open-source strategy into a detailed software product strategy by defining: Who is this product for? What are the outcomes of the product? What are the tactics to successfully deploy the product? How will our customers use it, and what do they expect to achieve with it? How does it showcase our scientific leadership in the field of quantum error correction?
- Collaborate closely with (internal) end users to understand current and future needs
- Develop market/customer information gathering tactics and converting user feedback into detailed product requirements, narratives and technical specifications (PRD)
- Develop product life cycle strategies
- Work closely with Riverlane’s science/engineering teams to ensure product features and engineering schedules are signed off against the business plan
- Collaborate closely with the hardware product development team to understand interfaces and how to best expose Deltaflow via the software
- Work closely with Riverlane’s open-source engineering team to expose those tools to the wider user community to help increase customer adoption
- Develop strategies to maximise the usability and improve the user experience (e.g. documentation, examples, design release schedule etc.) in collaboration with the Community team
- Develop collateral, including presentations, white papers and benchmarks for products and their applicability in the context of Riverlane’s roadmap and partnerships
- Leverage product usage metrics, market insights (e.g. news, breakthroughs), qualitative customer and market data to deeply understand user needs and guide future product development
- Gain deep knowledge of competitor and ecosystem trends
- Work closely with our research, product design and engineering teams to bring new capabilities to life
- Support the Deltaflow Lead Product Manager in creating new and exciting opportunities for Deltaflow
Requirements
What we need- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a STEM-related subject (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience working as a Junior Product Manager/Product Manager for software tools (please note that this does not include SaaS-related experience), including product shipping experience
- Ability to work with high degree of agency
- Excellent communication skills: ability to effectively translate complex scientific concepts into software features, communicating successfully with both scientists and engineers
- Ability to deal with uncertainty and pivots calmly and effectively
- Ability and willingness to operate at both a strategic and hands-on (technical) level
- Excellent collaborator: ability to successfully bring together opinions and requirements from science/engineering/project management teams
- An interest and willingness to learn about quantum computing
