Job Description- Lead and coordinate the development of the 5-year financial plan, supporting strategy through robust scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, risk assessment, and strategic recommendations.
- Deliver quarterly reforecasts for income and associated costs across multiple locations
- Provide authoritative financial analysis, insight, and advice to inform strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and resource allocation.
- Provide senior-level financial analysis and oversight and narrative for monthly management accounts variances against budget for tuition income, franchise fee, marketing & outreach expenditure and student recruitment commissions, ensuring an accurate interpretation and explanation of variances.
- Produce concise, high impact financial commentary that supports decision-making by senior leaders and budget holders.
- Lead development and refinement of financial models, ensuring accuracy, transparency and strategic alignment.
- Provide advanced scenario planning and financial modelling expertise to support major strategic decisions and risk assessments.
- Line manage the Finance Analyst, ensuring strong performance, development, and continuous improvement.
- Promote collaboration across Finance, including with Finance Systems and Management Accounts teams.
The Successful Applicant
You will have the following;- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Significant experience working within the university sector in a similar financial planning, forecasting, or analytical leadership role.
- Proven experience of developing financial plans, long‑term forecasts, and scenario modelling.
- Experience of successfully leading and managing direct reports
- Experience producing financial analysis for senior leadership decision‑making.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling principles.
- Experience working in a complex organisation with multiple income streams and cost drivers.
- Experience of working within the Higher Education sector
- Competitive salary ranging from £60,000 to £65,000 per annum.
