Head of Information Technology

The role is hybrid but you will be required to go into the office 2 days a week in South Wales.

Additionally, the role ensures the implementation of IT systems and policies, establishing robust controls to maintain compliance with information security standards across the business.

• Implement all technology operations and evaluate them according to established goals
• Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by Board
• Negotiate with suppliers of hardware and software to get the best deal, including external support, and being responsible for contracting consultants and making service agreements
• Manage and support delivery of software and hardware operations and projects
• Support the delivery of technical innovation aligned to the overall vision by recommending viable technologies
• Manage the day-to-day performance of key technology providers, including Mutula Vision to deliver in line with contractual terms, adhering to Operational Resilience and TPRM policies and frameworks
• Identify key skills and talent gaps within the function and work to recruit, train, and retain talent
• Identify and manage external technology providers in the delivery of contracted work, utilising SLAs and quality metrics in line with standards set out in Society policies and frameworks
• Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
• Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems presenting recommendation to COO
• Lead, coach and develop leaders to deliver high performance through teams and others
• Control budget in line with delegated responsibilities reporting on expenditure and create value
• Manage and effectively control the asset register in line with policy and procedures
• Implementing IT solutions to minimise the risk of cyber-attacks and Information Security breaches
• Ensure that IT capabilities are responsive to the needs of the line of business’ growth and operational objectives
• Managing the deployment, development, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading and support of organisational IT systems. This will include operating systems, servers, PCs, software apps, telephones and peripherals
• Ensuring collaboration with IT Enterprise Architect, to implement and integrate new /existing technology
• Participate in the commercial negotiations around third-party agreements and drive discussions on related service level agreement
• Manage annual IT financial budgets
• Manage the operational risks of the IT operation monitoring and assessing the profile of the function, ensuring suitable management actions for appropriate mitigation of
• Developing and implementing standard operating procedures in line with industry best practice
• Ensure team and third-party providers are responsive to the audit assessments or review
• Participate and contribute to the relevant management committees and governance forums providing experience as required
• Implement adequate IT Disaster Recovery and business resumption provisions are in place and in line with Business and regulatory requirements
• Ensure Information Security is at the heart of the business by managing a robust and effective security awareness program
• Implement relevant policies, frameworks and programs that balance security needs with the organisation’s strategic business plan, identify risk factors, and determine solutions to both

• Proven experience of IT planning and Software development management
• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their

• Experience in Managing information technology budget
• Track record of successfully delivering results through others
• Proven leadership experience and expertise in feedback, coaching and development
• Proven ability in delivering technical change across large scale and complex change programmes
• Experience in security architecture, security operations, threat/vulnerability management, cloud security, application security, data privacy and protection.
• A passion for technology and security safeguarding with a desire to deliver
• Analytical mind capable of managing numerous information sources and providing data analysis reports to senior management
• Experience of delivering and managing Information Security including threat and risk analysis, risk treatment, policy development, operational and assurance

functions.

• BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
• Industry standard Information Security qualifications such as CISSP or CISM are

desirable
