All of the people supported need support with all aspects of their life which includes either full support with personal care or prompting with personal care, support with cooking or prompting to cook meals, general household tasks, shopping and attending appointments. They also require support to attend all their activities and require full support to participate in some of these, e.g.: Swimming. Some people have complex communication needs and we use different communication methods to meet the individuals` needs.
The individuals we support all have a range of different sensory impairments including sight and hearing impairments. We also have a requirement for staff to be able to carry out moving and assisting tasks as we have 1 individual who uses a wheelchair and we also act as sighted guides for the people we support.
The Forfar service is set in an idyllic location with a large communal space both inside and outdoors where you can support the individuals to be as creative as they wish. We are a small team who put the people we support at the heart of the service.
A driving Licence is preferred but not essential.
