Your New Role
  • Providing essential support children and young adults aged 16-18 years old within residential homes with EBD and Complex Needs.
  • Creating a safe and nurturing environment to foster their independence.
  • Engaging in diverse day-to-day activities tailored to their needs.
  • Assisting with household tasks like cooking and cleaning.
  • Logging and note-taking for activities completed, accurately.
  • Supporting learning and homework completion, aiding in job and apprenticeship applications.
  • Building trust and responsibility to accompany them to appointments and activities.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience in a children's residential home is desirable, as well as experience with youth or young adults at risk. Experience with children is a must, especially those with complex needs. However, we welcome candidates with relevant transferable experience supporting young people with challenging needs. (Note: Some homes may prioritise those with previous residential experience.)
  • Ideal Qualifications: Qualifications such as an NVQ L3 are ideal. An NVQ LVL 2 is a must. (Note: Some homes may require or prioritise candidates with specific qualifications. Mandatory training evidence will be requested, and any required modules will be assigned through our online training platform.)
  • Flexibility: We're seeking workers who are as flexible as possible with their shift patterns, depending on your circumstances and the clients, we would expect the flexibility to go both ways.
  • Resilience: This role can be challenging, so a strong will, perseverance, and patience are essential when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Effective Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary. You'll be responsible for writing in logbooks and potentially preparing reports.
