Practice Nurse
We are currently looking for a Locum Band 5 Practice Nurse to work at Pirbright (Alexander Barracks), Woking, with the MoD for 37.5 hours per week.
The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, under Defence Primary Healthcare, providing additional resources to the medical centre, which will consist of day to day General Practice/ Primary Healthcare responsibilities working with service personnel.
Further responsibilities outlined below:- To be responsible to the Senior Medical Officer / Lead Clinician / Senior Nurse and provide routine clinics as directed to meet the needs of the organisation and the PAR.
- To be involved in the development and implementation of local programmes of care/ service delivery within their scope of practice; conducting electronic searches and performing audit to promote quality improvement.
- To assist in the supervision of untrained staff within the practice, under the guidance of the Senior Nurse / Lead Clinician and within individual scope of practice.
Essential requirements:
Must be Registered Nurse (Adult) Level 1 with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and hold a valid, in date Personal Identification Number (PIN) and not be subject to any restrictions of practice.Must have a minimum of one year’s post registration experience working as a Band 5 or higher grade in a Primary Healthcare (PHC) setting (within the last three years).
Must be able to perform Venepuncture
Must be able to administer Vaccinations and Immunisations
Please note, this position may be extended.Hours are Monday - Thursday , 0800 - 1630 and Fridays 0800 - 1330
