We are looking for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex SEMH/trauma so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, experience a sense of achievement and develop independence in learning and other aspects of school life in our Post16 Centre.
Our school is a happy place with increasing numbers, our current PAN is 188 pupils. We have high expectations for our students and are committed to collaborative working in order to achieve the best possible outcomes and to maximise their opportunities.

Working knowledge of PTSD, Trauma-informed approach, Experience of working with an individual who has Complex SEMH needs/ history of childhood trauma A bachelor’s degree in a compatible field, such as psychology, social work or counselling Able to evidence an understanding of social, emotional and mental health needs, e.g. managing anxiety
An ability to work under guidance, use your own initiative, work alone and as part of a team is vital

Be accepting of a variety of day-to-day challenges and communicate well with others

Have a willingness to learn and open to training opportunities that arise to help develop your skills furtherIn return, you will develop experience of working with children with SEND and other disabilities. You may be expected to undertake training in intimate care in line with our intimate care policy.

Salary: S5 point 1, Pro-rata starting salary £19,196 (FTE £26,777)

Hours: Monday – Friday, 30 hours per week, 08:50 – 15:20 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break / 39 weeks per year, term time only
