Experience:
- Good quality Honours degree in an appropriate discipline
- PGCE or equivalent in secondary education with relevant subject specialism.

As a Teacher of Sociology or Criminology at Derby Cathedral School, you will deliver engaging lessons that inspire students’ curiosity about society and culture. You will contribute to the development of our curriculum and support students in understanding key social concepts through interactive and thought-provoking teaching methods.
Skills and Qualifications:- A strong interest in Sociology, Criminology, or related social sciences subjects
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to secondary school students
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan lessons that meet diverse student needs
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop professionally as part of a collaborative team
- Basic IT skills relevant for classroom use (e.g., presentation software)
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Sociology, Criminology, or Education-related field are desirable but not essential
- Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom where all students feel valued and supported
- Enthusiasm for inspiring young people’s interest in social sciences topics
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with adolescents from varied backgrounds
- A positive approach towards continuous professional development
- Dedication to upholding the school’s ethos of respect, integrity, and community engagement
