We have an opportunity to work within our Pitkerro Court Outreach Service supporting adults with a variety of additional support needs such as mental health issues, learning disability, autism, ADHD and alcohol issues
The Role
As a support worker you will:
Be helping people with all aspects of daily life ,including personal care (which may include intimate personal care).Support with all aspects of medication.
Support with cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping.
Some of the people we support need assistance and guidance with emotional, behavioural and personal safety support.
Emotional support and support with recovery process
Promotion of positive mental health and developing constructive coping strategies
Social support including accessing community based resources and planning for leisure so that life is interesting and enjoyable
Exploring opportunities for meaningful employmentIn this role you have the brilliant opportunity to give new experiences to the people you are supporting.
You should
Be cheerful, caring and reliable. You will smile a lot, be able to chat about a wide range of topics and be able to make a positive difference to someone’s day.You should have a good sense of humor.
Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Work as a part of a team and be required to carry out sleepover and waking night shifts.
Undertake a key working role that includes administrative tasks and IT skills
Be able to show transferrable skills relating to care
Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or have the willingness undertake study to achieve this
You will be required to obtain registration with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post.
