Who are we looking for:
Enthusiastic and motivated individuals with an appetite to learn, who can offer some flexibility as we grow our MSK FCP offer to fit with the demands of the organisation and local population.
We have FCP hours available within Bournemouth and Poole Primary Care Networks.
We recognise the growing preference of maintaining links with MSK outpatient therapy services and secondary care, we support flexibility in roles, and we promote the importance of a good work life balance. Typically we would expect a role to be split with 60% in FCP practice and 40% in MSK therapy.Alongside this we operate an 80% clinical 20% non-clinical protected time to facilitate continued personal development.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with our Primary Care Networks (PCNs) we can offer clinical support to further develop your knowledge and career in this growing area. We can provide access to the HEI taught route to FCP supporting you through this process. For applicants who are already signed off as roadmap competent we will continue to provide you with regular supervision and continued training and development as part of our FCP team across UHD.
Main duties of the job
Provide clinical expertise as first contact, making decisions about the best course of action for patients' care. This will involve seeing patients, without prior contact with their GP or Consultant. Practitioners will use their clinical-reasoning skills to undertake an assessment of the presenting problem, interpret findings, develop working and differential diagnoses, and formulate, communicate and implement management plans that take account of individuals' needs, goals and wishes, local service availability and relevant local and national guidelines and policies.
Responsibility for the management of a mixed MSK caseload referred to Physiotherapy from both primary and secondary care. You will supervise and support a team of rotational physiotherapists as they pass through their MSK rotations at both Band 6 and Band 5 levels.

Essential criteria- Current registration with relevant professional body.
- level 6 post grad clinical practice qualification
- Relevant post-graduate specialist Musculoskeletal course(s)
- More than 3 years MSK experience
- Level 7 Post registration/post-graduate qualification.
- FCP Roadmap Stage 1 and Stage 2 Complete
Experience
Essential criteria- Demonstrable experience of managing patient’s care at an enhanced level of practice with specific knowledge and skills in a field of expertise within the musculoskeletal context
- Experience of supervising, teaching, mentoring and developing staff.
- Experience of working as an FCP or in primary care
- Band 7 experience
