We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Health Instructor to join our dynamic Physical Therapies Health Instructor team.

Working across a variety of inpatient settings within Solihull & Birmingham Mental Health Foundation Trust you will be working with an experienced and passionate Physical therapies team as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.

Working under the supervision and guidance of Physiotherapists and Senior Health Instructors you will have the opportunity to work with service users with functional and organic mental health illnesses where there maybe comorbidities. Ideally the candidate will be trained to level gym instructor, but if not will be willing to achieve the qualification within 6 months of appointment.

You will receive regular management and clinical supervision. Training and development will be provided in line with discussed development reviews.

Essential criteria
  • Reps level 2 Gym Intructor or equivilant
  • NVQ level 3
  • English and literacy level 2

knowledge & Experinece

  • Experience of delivering physical activity /exercise groups
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of care delivery in a mental health or learning disability setting.

The Trust will reimburse this. You will be contractually obliged to maintain your subscription.

All successful applicants will be required to complete the Trust’s induction programme. The Fundamental (Statutory and Mandatory) training will be in an e-learning format. You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your second week with us.
