We are seekingan experienced, enthusiastic, and self-motivated pharmacist to join our friendly pharmacy team. This post, based in the Medicines Information (MI) department, would particularly suit a pharmacist withpreviousmental health experiencewho is looking toconsolidatetheir skills.

You willbe responsible fordelivering high quality expert answers tooftencomplex queries, that meet national quality standards and guide our psychiatrists’ treatment decisions in patient care.

The post holder will support the Lead Medicines Information Pharmacist to manage, develop and deliver the Medicines Information Service for Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Expert Medicines Advice:Providespecialist medicines advice to healthcare professionals at all levels, including consultant psychiatrists, and to patients and carers.
  • Proactive information provision: Contribute to the writing and dissemination of Medicines Information Bulletins, memos, prescribing guidelines, and other written information to promote quality and cost-effective prescribing in the Trust.
  • Supervision and Training: Supervise and train junior pharmacists and pre-registration pharmacists and technicians rotating through the Medicines Information service, contributing to their professional development.

There may also be the opportunity to deliver a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to a designated ward, developingexpertisein a clinical sub-specialty.

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • have experience in mental health pharmacy
  • have a hospital pharmacist background, with a strong patient focus
  • have good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise, and expert advice.
  • be self-motivated, confident andtheability to prioritise
