The Company

Our client is an established, family-run business that supplies a range of pharmaceutical and healthcare products along with Mentholated Lozenges within the group.

They are now looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join them on a part-time, permanent basis, working 20 hours per week.

The working hours for this role are as follows:

  • Monday - Friday: 10.00 to 14.00 with a 15-minute coffee break.
  • Monday - Friday: 14.30 to 18.30 with a 15-minute coffee break.

The Role

As a Health & Safety Officer, you will foster a safe and secure working environment across our client’s workspaces.

Specifically, you will identify and mitigate workplace hazards to uphold relevant health and safety legislations, advise management on safe working practices, monitor working conditions, and conduct risk assessments to promote a culture of safety.

Liaising with the H&S Manager, you will conduct planned health and safety audits, workplace inspections, and ad-hoc site visits to ensure compliance with regulations and procedures, investigating all incidents, and recommending measures to prevent recurrence.

Additionally, you will:

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of current and new legislative requirements
  • Co-ordinate and support quarterly Health & Safety Committee meetings
  • Deliver health and safety training
  • Support the emergency response process and administer the Emergency Plan functions
  • Organise health surveillance and screening programmes

About You

To be considered as a Health & Safety Officer, you will need:

  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role
  • A proven interest in health and safety
  • The ability to train staff at all levels
  • Strong report writing and time management skills
  • The ability to prioritise workloads effectively
  • A willingness to follow procedures and work under pressure
  • NEBOSH Level 3 General Certificate in Health & Safety
