Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
- Plan, prepare, and assess work, ensuring students meet their individual targets.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic excellence.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
- Prepare students for GCSEs, ensuring all are confident and well-prepared for examinations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work, ensuring continuity and progression in Science learning.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, CPD opportunities, and whole-school activities.
- Manage behaviour effectively, maintaining a safe, respectful learning space.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- A relevant degree in Science or a related field.
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Science in a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge in at least one branch of Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
- A passion for education and a student-centred approach to teaching.
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to use assessment data to inform planning and improve student outcomes.
- A clear enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).
- Right to work in the UK.
